چکیده
We report a simple stepped growth process for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) having excellent field emission properties. CNT growth was interrupted in the process. During the interruption, the catalyst was re-activated in-situ. This resulted in enhanced growth of the CNTs after the interruption and a film of CNTs re-grew on top of an existing CNT film at much higher rates. The enhancement can be up to 669% higher. Regardless of the interruption, the tubular structure continues which creates an opportunity for the fabrication of junction CNTs for nano-electronic applications. Excellent field emission properties were observed for the stepped-grown CNTs.

Competition between two populations tends to eliminate one of the populations from their common habitat, when competition is focused on a single resource and when the populations do not otherwise interact. It is known that two microbial species competing for a single rate-limiting nutrient cannot grow together in a chemostat under steady-state operation, but eventually the species with the lowe...
متن کاملToxicological effects of NCKU-21, a phenanthrene derivative, on cell growth and migration of A549 and CL1-5 human lung adenocarcinoma cells
BACKGROUND Chemotherapy insensitivity continues to pose significant challenges for treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The purposes of this study were to investigate whether 3,6-dimethoxy-1,4,5,8-phenanthrenetetraone (NCKU-21) has potential activity to induce effective toxicological effects in different ethnic NSCLC cell lines, A549 and CL1-5 cells, and to examine its anticancer mechan...

متن کاملSPS' Digest: the Swiss Proteomics Society selection of proteomics articles.
Despite the consolidation of the specialized proteomics literature around a few established journals, such as Proteomics, Molecular and Cellular Proteomics, and the Journal of Proteome Research, a lot of information is still spread in many different publications from different fields, such as analytical sciences, MS, bioinformatics, etc. The purpose of SPS' Digest is to gather a selection of pr...

Practitioner’s Digest aims to bring practitioners into contact with research that might be of interest. Drawing on a team of correspondents, the column will highlight industry-relevant research results from software-engineering conferences. This information will appear in two formats. First, the column will provide short, oneto two-paragraph, synopses of papers presented at recent conferences. ...
